Introducing a new way of fighting spam
April 2nd, 2009As you can read on the main page of my new (and not yet working) service, http://www.ciuly.com/antispam , I started a new battle in my war against spam.
I expect the system to be live in a few weeks, before the end of the month.

The server has suffered a "minor" upgrade
March 30th, 2009I just installed an 80GB IDE harddisk. Considering that the primary hdd is about 6GB "big", I can say this is quite an improvement.
For those who missed it, currently my servers is a:
– Pentium III running at
– 500 Mhz with
– 256 MB ram and
– one 6 GB hdd and one 80 GB hdd
the rest is unimportant.
This is my 3rd server. My first one was a Pentium I if I recall correctly. My second was (well, is) a Pentium II.
So, a small spoiler 😀 In the following 1-2 weeks I will get my older server back online again, as a secondary, backup server, for some of my services. It will be located in anotehr city so it’s a good choice. More info after that’s up and running 😉

VMWare: Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to
March 28th, 2009I started getting this error “Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to” when attempting to resume a suspended virtual machine. For whatever reason, this happened after a I have used acronis disk director to merge a partition to the partition on which the visrtual machines reside to gain more space. It could be only a conincidence though.
Anyway, After trying a few times to resume/power on the vm and also restarting vmware client (VMWare workstation ACE edition) I closed the workstation, restarted all services one by one and then started up the workstation again. I found the virtual machine powered on (in the powered on list) but not viewable. if I took a screenshot it clearly showed it was running. So, since I could not interact with the machine, I suspended it again, then resumed and everything was back to normal.
This happened once yesterday and once just now. In both times I’ve done the above steps and got the same results so it appears this is a workaround the problem.

Stupid AOL mail service
March 28th, 2009Some people use AOL mail services. The stupid thing is that for some idiotic reason AOL rejects my messages as SPAM. So I tried to enroll in their stupid feedback loop and getting my ip whitelisted. BUT, one of the fields there was asking for somehting (I don’t remember exactly what) which I didn’t understand (and my english is not exactly low level) so I filled it in with something like "I don’t understand what you want for this field. But let me know and I’ll give you the info.". And the idiots just rejected my whitelist request AND they didn’t explain why.
So I’m going to BAN AOL emails on my services.
Shoot yourselves in the head you idiots.

Spamming idiots
March 5th, 2009I started to receive some idiotic spam messages on the forum email address asking me to conact some partially random MSN ID.
So, like any good programmer out there, I made a small filter for my email server basically replying with something like "f**k off" whenever such a message arrived. It took 3 messages after I put up the filter for the idiot to stop sending them 😀
I am now applying the same idea to another spamming idiot who says set up some webpage for me. haha.
Next in line are the cialis/viagra idiots.

DC Server about to be discontinued
March 5th, 2009I decided to discontinue hosting a DC (Direct Connect) Server. This will happen sometime in April.
I will most likely discontinue running the IRC eggdrop as well. I might replace it with a BNC though, just to keep my undernet username for myself. After all, I’m registered on #delphi 🙂

My Experts-Exchange account was suspended today
January 23rd, 2009My Experts-Exchange account was suspended today because of my blacklisting policy AND because I was informing the askers that they will no longer receive my help. Hah.
I’m slowly dieing because of this. How will I ever survive not being able to help otehr for free, while those others are paying big bucks?
Oh, truth be told, I received about 8 T-Shirts for all my answering work on that site, plus a coffee mug, 1 T-Shirt, 1 diploma, 1 TB My Book external HDD, 4 small pieces of chocolate and a greeting card (last 3 things were this Christmas present).
I’ll probably put the pictures up on my ee corner (http://www.ciuly.com/ee/), whenever I’ll feel like it (and if anybody is asking for them).
Ok, so this is the end of my EE carrier. I wanted to get into 1st position in the overall top, but seems I was cut short. Oh well, you can’t have it all, can you?
I *might* resume my help on delphipages.com but I haven’t decided that yet.

To all suiciders and killers in general
December 28th, 2008I know this message comes a bit late for most of you suiciders, but maybe it’ll be good for those who didn’t have what it takes, yet.
Ok, so your life is crappy, you’re miserable, whatever: you decided to commit suicide. I will not talk you out of it. There is no sense, really. It’s your right. You CAN do it. After all, who am I to tell you not to do it. You could have perfectly good reasons to do it. Hell, even I considered it a few times.
Or maybe you are just one of those guys who got sick of school, work, friends, idiots, whatever: you decide to kill the motherfuckers. You buy/steel/borrow/whatever a gun/uzi/riffle/shotgun/pistol/whatever and you march in your school/workplace/whatever and you start killing people. I will not talk you out of it either. There is no sense, really. It’s your right. You CAN do it. After all, who am I to tell you not to do it. You could have perfectly good reasons to do it. Hell, even I considered it a few times. I even considered it more times than suicide. Makes perfect sense.
The only objection I have is the effect of your actions. Why in the world are you so stupid to go out like an idiot when you can go out like a hero?
Take a good example from those "Arab" suiciders. Seriously. Instead of filming yourself on you-tube how you commit suicide like a lame idiot, pack up your gear, go into some crack house or something and kill everybody. Don’t forget to film it: mount some recording device on your head or something. And if you don’t get yourself killed that way, find some other idiots to blow up or hunt down. A serial rapist for example. Or a serial killer for that matter who kills "innocent" people (don’t turn on another serial killer like yourself).
Drug dealers, gun smugglers, child molesters, rapists, human flesh traffickers, etc, etc, etc. I’m not talking about the small lowlifes like prostitutes (who make a fair living), or small time thieves, or one time killers/rapists/whatever. Nobody is perfect. Some people screw up once. But hey, if the guy got drunk or something one time and raped somebody and then he is sorry for that for the rest of his life, fine, let him live with that. But if he’s a serial rapist who just can’t stop himself then somebody must stop him, right? Same goes to drug addicts. They are too weak and got caught up in the drug. They can’t help themselves. But the dealers who sell the shit are surely doing it knowingly. They are exploiting the weak in a very bad way.
So, why go out like an idiot when you can go out like a hero? Some will argue about human rights. Let’s see if they are right:
– does the drug dealer has a right to sell drugs to my 14 year old kid who is too weak to say no OR does my 14 year old kid has a right not to be tempted with drugs?
– does a pedophile has a right to rape children OR do those children have a right to a normal, unraped life?
and the examples can go on.
When one person destroys the life of another person, that person has severely ignored the second persons [b:3f0196c737]right to live[/b:3f0196c737]. So, YOU, my dear suicider/killer, have the exact same right as the offender to destroy the offenders life. The difference is, that the offender deserves it!!!
So, my dear suicider: you want to kill yourself? Don’t make it in vain: take somebody who really deserves it with you.
So, my dear killer: you want to kill somebody? Don’t kill the people who made you mad as they didn’t commit such a horrible crime to deserve death, but instead kill somebody who really deserves it.
There are bacterium, parasites and all sort of bad organism out there that can make one persons body ill. But for most of them there is medicine to solve it. So let them be. But there are some organisms, some viruses, some diseases out there that completely destroy one persons body. Kill them.
Destroy what is not curable. If you don’t want to kill them, just give them a big load of their own medicine. Big enough so they won’t forget it.
My dear suicider/killer: you can make a difference. A BIG difference.
Everybody fears his/her life. So if pedophiles start to be killed, then a wannabe pedophile will think 10 times before raping a child, as he knows he might be next.
Human rights are for those who uphold it. Whomever ignores the rights of another human does not uphold them and thus forfeits his own rights.
Laws should protect the potential victims not the actual criminals. If a person destroys another persons life, their life should be destroyed as well, and more, so that others will not follow his crime.
The current system somewhat protects from abuses, which is good. But does not protect potential victims, which is bad.
So if you are going to take your own life, at least try to be a hero. If your life didn’t mean anything, make your death mean more.
