Antispam finally up and running

Delphi 7 help error
Saturday, August 25th, 2007I wrote some code using RTTI and for some reason I was getting odd results. Couldn’t figure out what was the problem and I wasn’t able to debug since teh application was deployed on another machine.
So, I took out the new rtti-ed code and made a small test project just to see that there is an error in the delphi help file.

the value is actually -2147483648, and using the constant, the compiler will for some reason complain of
[Error] unitname.pas(line number): Overflow in conversion or arithmetic operation
which is kind of stupid since that value is actually the low end of integer, so the workaround is to use low(integer) instead of that.

I wonder what was in the head of this buyer. The work for this project exeeds easily a few days, depending on the size of the existing code since point 2 is not a 5 minute job. And not using your own code? Jesus, you idiot, they invented code reusage for a reason. And 3 months of free support included in those $30? 😯

Statistics.ro is out!
Friday, August 10th, 2007For over a month, this stat service has been only trouble. "Has" because today I removed it from my system. It’s only temporarely commented, but if things start going fine, it will be deleted alltogether.
Starting from bad reports, with negative visitors 😮 and incomplete referral reports and finishing with mention the most annoying problem: pages stopped loading fully because of it; this service is only trouble. They have a notice up saying that they are currently working on making the system better. Yeah right. It’s been almost 2 months since they are doing that.
